The shop on Heaton road remains open as normal for customers to visit and purchase goods in-store as usual. Distancing and hygiene measures are in place.  Our weekly schedule , and opening times have changed a little recently. We are now closed on Sundays and Mondays. But the shop is  open from 11am to 6pm Monday to Friday , and from 10.30am to 5pm on a Saturday.

We have recently launched an online shop to support our new delivery and collection service.  As well as a weekly order service, we also offer a range of online veg box  subscriptions. . Elderly and vulnerable customers who have difficulty with online shopping  can still use our delivery request form.   Our order deadline is strictly Monday at noon for delivery or collection orders each week.  Orders submitted after noon on a monday will be fulfilled the following week. We currently deliver to  postcodes NE2, NE3, NE6 , NE7, NE12  & NE28. We deliver to Heaton, High Heaton, Jesmond ,Sandyford, South Gosforth and Gosforth between 2pm & 8pm on Wednesdays .  We deliver to other areas including Walker, Byker, Wallsend, Benton and Killingworth between 2pm and 8pm on Thursdays. Collection orders are available to collect from midday Friday until 5pm on a Saturday.

  Not all of our in-store products are listed in our  online shop. Customers are welcome to request additional items from The Honey Tree by using the order notes section at checkout.  We invoice by email for any additional items. Terms and conditions are available at the bottom of this page. Our online order and delivery service is still developing and we appreciate our customers support.

We sell a little bit of everything in-store and are happy to gather together more shopping to add to your order. We update our online shop with our new lines each week by Saturday afternoon at the latest.  Please include any special instructions in your order notes. If you are not going to be in for a delivery please let us know where we can leave your box.

Our ready made boxes vary each week, follow the seasons and reflect what is proving popular with customers in-store at any time. Our boxes usually contain a portion of the items listed above as essentials, and take advantage of the full variety of loose fruit and veg which sell each week. Some of our customers like to top up their ready made box with more portions of fruit and veg and other items.

We have a different supply chain from the supermarkets and order our fresh produce direct from independent and specialist growers. Our focus is always on sourcing the best produce available at any time. All the farms we buy from are free to set their own market price. We follow the seasons to keep our produce as local and as well priced as we can. And as a specialist organic greengrocer, we only sell certified organic produce.

Our prices for loose organic fruit and veg in-store are often better than the supermarkets for like for like produce. And our ready made boxes offer even better value. Our ready made boxes offer good value for money even after any delivery charge is added. We prefer in the current circumstances if customers can include a £20 ready made box in any order.

Customers concerned about unwanted items in their ready made boxes are welcome to take out a subscription and let us know their preferences in their order notes at checkout. We make up all our boxes around our delivery days to ensure they are as fresh as possible. Some customers report our box contents can last them up to two weeks after purchase.

Our fresh boxes offer a great way to help stay healthy and reduce packaging. They give our customers the opportunity eat and cook with the seasons each week while enjoying the best and most nutritious organic fresh produce available.

Terms and conditions

Our delivery is currently doorstep drop at easily accessible properties and kerbside at others. If we can easily access your doorstep , we’ll drop off your delivery and wait at a safe distance till you answer your door or your telephone. In the current circumstances if your property is inaccessible or has closed or shared access ( eg flats ) we’ll telephone you on arrival so you can meet us kerbside and receive your delivery at a safe distance. If you have a safe place we can leave your order if you are not in, please inform us when placing your order. If we haven’t been given a nominated safe place, we may still leave your box in what we consider to be a safe location at your address if if we consider it is in your best interests.

If we can’t complete a delivery at a given address, we will notify customers by text, and their box will be returned to the shop. Boxes will be available to collect from the shop until 5pm on the Saturday. We regret we can’t reschedule delivery or refund delivery charges in such circumstances.

We deliver inside set timeslots. Your delivery timeslot depends on the area in which you live. Deliveries for Heaton, High Heaton, Sandyford, Gosforth and South Gosforth are on a Wednesday between 2pm and 8pm. Deliveries for all other areas are on a Thursday between 2pm and 8pm. We cover postcodes NE2,NE3.NE6,NE7,NE12 & NE28 at present. Please see the map below.

All boxes requiring collection must be collected by 5pm on a Saturday. We’ll extend our collection deadline till 5pm Tuesday if you can email us before 5pm on a Saturday. We can’t supply or refund boxes that are not collected in time, or if we have not been notified in time by email that a later collection date is needed. We also can’t refund for boxes ordered once they have been made up in-store. We will happily cancel and refund orders with due notice but will only refund the original cost minus any online transaction costs incurred by us as part of the original transaction.

We will make substitutions in good faith if we believe it is in the best interests of a customer, particularly where customers have requested items rather than simply purchasing them online. Please tell us if you don’t want any substitutions to be made, or please email to give us feedback if you are unhappy with any substitutions made so we can provide you with a better service going forward. We cannot facilitate returns or exchanges for goods supplied at a distance. We cannot offer to swap items in ready made boxes when customers collect them at the shop.

If we can’t supply any item that you have purchased, we will refund you for any items which are missing as neccesary by the following Saturday at the latest. The online shop is updated for the week ahead by a Saturday at 5pm.

Our deadline for both collection and delivery orders is strictly noon on a monday and we regret exceptions cannot be made in the current circumstances. Orders recieved after monday will scheduled for the following week.

Our request form contains a special instructions section and our online form provides an order notes section at checkout. Customers can use these to supply additional information or any concerns they might have with their order.
