From the day we opened our store we were determined to source the best products with the best provenance. We stock goods which in every way reflect the traditional food ethics of sustainabilty, craftsmanship and respect for workers at every stage of the production. This ethical approach led us to seek out local artisan producers, nearby organic farmers, and wholesalers who reflect our ambition. Every product we sell is carefully selected to ensure its enviromental impact is as positive as it can be. This radical approach might have alarmed our business advisors, but we have been pleased to see it struck a chord with our customers and we believe in the end it has been, and continues to be the root of our success.

In the end we are more than just a food shop – we consider ourselves to be a food community in which everyone, the producer, the retailer and the customer is respected. Whether it is organic meats, local cheeses, peanut butter or bin bags we approach the sourcing of our stock with the same evident ethical principles. Our shop may not change the world, but it can be part of a fuller more rounded approach to trading well , living well and eating well.
